Giving

One of God’s fundamental spiritual laws is: You can’t give without receiving.

Proverbs 11:24–25: There is one who scatters, yet increases more; And there is one who withholds more than is right, But it leads to poverty. 25  The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself.

Ecclesiastes 11:1: Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days.

Heavenly Healing

God can heal.

Exodus 15:26: "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."

Deuteronomy 7:15: And the LORD will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.

Motherhood as God Sees It

God’s idea of a virtuous woman is also His idea of a good mother.

Proverbs 11:16: A gracious woman retains honor, But ruthless men retain riches.

Proverbs 12:4: An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, But she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.

Proverbs 19:14: A prudent wife is from the LORD.

Why God Sent Jesus

In Jesus we see what God is like.

Colossians 1:13,15: He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

Hebrews 1:3: Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

Happiness and Joy

True happiness is a gift from God.

Ecclesiastes 2:26: For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight.

Romans 14:17: For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Depending on God vs. Self-effort

God expects us to put our faith into action, which takes effort.

Ecclesiastes 9:10: Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might;

Mark 14:8: She has done what she could.

James 2:26: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Resting in the Lord

The Lord promises His people spiritual rest.

Exodus 33:14: And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

1 Kings 8:56a: Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised.

Hebrews 4:9: There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.
