The Bible is full of amazing stories of how God protected His children who looked to Him when things couldn’t have looked worse—stories that can strengthen our faith that God will also protect us. Here are a few that have encouraged millions down through the ages.
The great escape
Try love, humility, prayer, and communication.
1 Corinthians 13:4–8a: Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.8 Love never fails.
Physical beauty is short lived.
Psalm 103:15–16: As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. 16 For the wind passes over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.
Jeremiah 4:30b: Though you clothe yourself with crimson, though you adorn yourself with ornaments of gold, though you enlarge your eyes with paint, in vain you will make yourself fair; your lovers will despise you; they will seek your life.
The Holy Spirit connection
Mark 13:11: But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
John 16:7, 13–14: Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
Psalm 34:10: The young lions lack and suffer hunger; but those who seek the Lordshall not lack any good thing.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Romans 8:32: He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
