Meditation has spiritual and practical benefits.
Psalm 49:3: “My mouth shall speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart shall give understanding.
Psalm 63:5–6: My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. 6 When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches.
Psalm 119:99: I have more understanding than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.
Keep it positive and uplifting.
Proverbs 15:23: A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!
Proverbs 27:9: Ointment and perfume delight the heart, And the sweetness of a man’s friend gives delight by hearty counsel.
Ephesians 4:29: Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Today “truth” has come to mean “something honest or factual,” but here it is used in the deeper sense of “a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality.”
We should seek truth.
Psalm 25:5: Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Proverbs 23:23: Buy the truth, and do not sell it, Also wisdom and instruction and understanding.
1 Timothy 2:4: Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Obey God’s rules for spiritual health.
Exodus 15:26: "If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you."
Deuteronomy 4:40: "You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which the LORD your God is giving you for all time."
Proverbs 4:20,22: My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
Children are to respect and obey their parents.
Exodus 20:12: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.”
Ephesians 6:1–2: Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 "Honor your father and mother," which is the first commandment with promise.
Colossians 3:20: Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
God has given us a clear plan for living right.
Deuteronomy 10:12: "And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,”
Proverbs 30:7–8: Two things I request of You (Deprive me not before I die): 8 Remove falsehood and lies far from me; Give me neither poverty nor riches—Feed me with the food allotted to me.
Don’t be afraid of sorrows; they will pass.
Psalm 30:11: You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness.
Psalm 126:5: Those who sow in tears Shall reap in joy.
Matthew 5:4: Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.
