Children are a blessing from God.
Genesis 49:25: By the God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you With blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
Psalm 113:9: He grants the barren woman a home, Like a joyful mother of children. Praise the LORD!
Psalm 127:3–5: Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. 4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. 5 Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
God loves and knows children, even before birth.
Psalm 22:10: I was cast upon You from birth. From My mother’s womb You have been My God.
Isaiah 49:1: Listen, O coastlands, to Me, And take heed, you peoples from afar! The LORD has called Me from the womb; From the matrix of My mother He has made mention of My name.
Jeremiah 1:5: Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."
Early training will guide children all through life.
Proverbs 22:6: Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
If you neglect your children for other things, you and they will suffer.
Proverbs 29:15b: The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.
You should teach your children God’s Word.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7: And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
Isaiah 38:19b: The father shall make known Your truth to the children.
Joel 1:3: Tell your children about it, Let your children tell their children, And their children another generation.
John 21:15: So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?" He said to Him, "Yes, Lord; You know that I love You." He said to him, "Feed My lambs."
2 Timothy 3:15: and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
Teach your children to trust in God.
Psalm 22:9: But You are He who took Me out of the womb; You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
Psalm 34:11: Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
Psalm 78:6–7: That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, 7 That they may set their hope in God, And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments.
Lead your children to receive Jesus.
Mark 10:14: But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.
John 1:12: But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
Only God can teach life’s most important lessons.
Psalm 25:5: Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; On You I wait all the day.
Proverbs 8:32–33: Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it.
Isaiah 54:13: All your children shall be taught by the LORD, And great shall be the peace of your children.
