Set realistic goals.
Luke 14:28–32: "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it—29 "lest, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 "saying, ‘This man began to build and was O not able to finish?’ 31 "Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 "Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks conditions of peace.”
Look to God for guidance.
Proverbs 2:6: For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;

Proverbs 16:3: Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.
Proverbs 19:21: There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the LORD’S counsel—that will stand.
Jeremiah 33:3: ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
James 1:5: If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Don’t try to go it alone; counsel and work with others.
Proverbs 8:33: Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it.
Proverbs 11:14: Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.
Proverbs 15:22: Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established.
Ecclesiastes 4:9–10: Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.
Ask for God’s help.
1 Chronicles 16:11: Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!
Psalm 37:5: Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 121:2: My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.
Isaiah 50:7: "For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.”
Persist in the face of difficulties.
1 Corinthians 15:58: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Galatians 6:9: And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
